Some women also get the ‘mask of pregnancy’ technically known as melasma which can form a mask shape on the skin.

During a consultation we can assess your needs and put together a facial or package that will help you to feel more comfortable in your skin for the remainder of your pregnancy. We can also design a bespoke skin routine to suit your skins needs, that will see you all the way to the birth.

Melasma is very common during pregnancy and thanks to a large surge in hormones it can stimulate excess melanin production. Usually women find they get dark brown patches across the chin, nose, cheeks and forehead. Although completely harmless it can leave women feeling self conscious and can sometimes be hard to cover with make up alone.
​
During the pregnancy it is advisable to continue wearing an SPF that is suitable to stop the pigmentation getting darker. Then when you have given birth the melasma can be dealt with.
Treatments may include: Cosmelan , SylFirmX, microneedling, LED light Therapy and/ or a home skincare plan.
It takes time to reduce and fade melasma, but with time, patience and consistency you will see results.
